That’s equivalent to every child in the US – 14 years of age and younger – never going to school,
never learning how to read or write their name or get a decent job.
Do you have a child, or grandchild or a niece or nephew that falls into this category?
Imagine if they were hungry, sick and laboring day after day for a few pennies to keep their family alive.
What kind of future would they have?
Without an education, these children will never be able to lift themselves out of poverty no matter how hard they try.
OUR VISION IS THAT EVERY CHILD RECEIVES ACCESS TO AN EDUCATION, and just like performing triage in an emergency room, we’ve started our work in one of the most impoverished areas of the world where 43% of the children are not receiving a primary education -- the sub sahara Africa.
A lack of education is the root cause of virtually every global challenge we face. When entire nations are denied access to an education, it leads to political unrest, war, terrorism, health epidemics and violence against women…PROBLEMS THAT ENDANGER ALL OF US.
Education has a greater impact in improving health, raising income, promoting gender equality and reducing overall poverty than ANY other form of help or aid.
According to the United Nations, education is the single most important investment we can make to reduce overall poverty. For every year a child goes to school, especially a girl, HIV rates go down, employment rises, girls get married later, early pregnancy rates decrease, nutrition and health are elevated for the entire family.
In areas of extreme poverty, a school is not enough to make a LASTING CHANGE. Without addressing the key issues that KEEP CHILDREN FROM ATTENDING SCHOOL, long lasting solutions to breaking the cycle of poverty is not possible.
THE UNSTOPPABLE SOLUTION--A PROVEN MODEL
Education is more than reading, writing, and arithmetic. Sponsor a Village – The Unstoppable Solution for Sustainable Education™ is based on the 5-Pillar development model that incorporates everything crucial to lifting communities from poverty and removing obstacles to educating children. This model recognizes that no problem and no solution stands alone. Each pillar provides vital support to facilitate and sustain community development.
The Unstoppable Foundation brings education and sustainability to people in developing countries by working with in-country partners that not only provide children with access to an education but provides the entire community with access to clean water and sanitation, food and nutrition, healthcare, and alternative income training for parents.
The five-pillar model is designed so everything is owned and maintained by the community, and the project is completely self-sustaining within five years of the completed implementation.
This model is a true partnership with local communities as they are actively consulted and involved throughout a holistic development process.
The World Bank estimates that achieving primary education for every child would cost only $11B to $15B a year.
We invite you to join us in this mission.
