06 Mar Sharing my Unstoppable Over the Moon Moments

I am over the moon excited about what has been transpiring over the last week and I just had to take a minute to share with you.

Yesterday I was in the studio with Grammy award winner Brandy.

We were shooting a video and PSA (Public Service Announcement) in support of the Unstoppable Foundation’s mission to bring education to every child.  We both had tears in our eyes as we connected to why we were there and what an education makes possible for thousands of children around the world.

As I stood in the studio, I had to pinch myself with everything that’s unfolding.  Six years ago, this started with a dream and a birthday party, asking a few people to join me to build one school. Now, I’m in the studio filming a commercial with the multi-talented R&B recording artist and successful leading actress, Brandy, that will help us expand our message to hundreds of thousands of people. And she is thanking me for the opportunity to be a part of something so meaningful. Wow!

Brandy and I will be unveiling this video at our GALA on March 15. This video will inspire even more people, groups and corporations to be a part of our mission so I hope you’re there with us to see it first!

I’m on my way right now to meet with Malala Yousafzai in London.

Malala was just 15 when the Taliban stormed her school bus on October 9th 2012. They shot her in the head in an attempt to silence her and end her campaign for a girl’s right to go to school. Her shooting, and her refusal to stand down from what she believed was right, brought to light the plight of millions of children around the world who are denied an education today. She is my hero and we’re honoring her with the Unstoppable Achievement Award at the GALA.

It’s been a week of absolute miracles for me and the Foundation. The excitement is palpable and the momentum is building. I am grateful to be able to share this with you and invite you to be a part of the movement that we’re creating together.

None of us can do anything of significance by ourselves. But in the words of Margaret Mead, “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.”

I hope you’ll join me next Saturday, March 15th, in Los Angeles, at the Unstoppable GALA and help us change the world by changing the lives of our children.
