WHY EDUCATION?

BECAUSE STUDIES PROVE THAT EDUCATION CHANGES EVERYTHING!

EDUCATION has been proven to yield a larger impact than ANY other form of help or aid we can give. According to the United Nations, for every year of education, HIV rates go down, early pregnancy rates among girls decreases, and income potential increase. Just learning to read and write could lift 171 million people out of poverty.

Educated parents have higher paying and more stable jobs. Educated mothers have healthier children with fewer instances of preventable diseases and malnutrition—they also have fewer children enabling them to devote more time and resources to the care of their families.

Just three short years ago, the Unstoppable Foundation started serving children who were destined to live a voiceless, nameless existence in some of the poorest communities in Africa. They were at risk of death through water-borne illnesses, early pregnancy, malaria, and AIDS.

Today, kids are thriving, getting top grades and learning not only how to read and write but how to stay healthy by growing organic vegetables and using safe sanitation practices, and how to protect themselves from HIV. Parents are learning new ways to generate an income, which enables them to keep their children in school. Entire families are now full of hope and excited about the future.

WHY AFRICA?

While our vision is that every child receives access to an education, we are focusing first on the most marginalized population, which is in Africa.

The vast majority of the children, women and men we are serving in Africa are living in absolute poverty, with no hope of uplifting their community without our support.

The people in these communities have limited access to education and healthcare services, and experience an unnecessary primary school dropout rate due to poor educational facilities.

The need for children to tend to livestock, fetch water and help with family chores keep school attendance down.

And, many of the children who do go to school start their education at a later age than normal because schools are not within reasonable walking distance from their home for very young children.
