Communications Manager
The Unstoppable Foundation is seeking a Communications Manager to work closely with the Director of Development and a deeply committed and dynamic staff to create and implement internal and external communications systems.

 

JOB DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Create and implement a 3-year comprehensive integrated communications plan across various print, digital, social media and PR that highlights and promotes the strengths and uniqueness of the Unstoppable Foundation’s mission.
  • Create and implement a system for ongoing communication with key constituents focused on retaining existing donors, nurturing new donors, engaging sponsors, corporate partnerships and other fundraising initiatives.
  • Write engaging and inspirational emails and e-newsletters to our donors and contacts, blogs for our web site, articles for third-party magazines, etc.
  • Create, maintain, and implement communication and marketing calendar.
  • Create and distribute a 2017-2018 annual report.
  • Create marketing communications templates for corporate and foundation prospects.
  • Create marketing communications templates for individual and major gifts donors.
  • Create vehicles for soliciting, thanking and recognizing donors.
  • Spearhead and deploy a social media and PR strategy.
  • Create digital fundraising templates and communication strategy and implementation.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • You are a compelling storyteller. Minimum of 7 years of communications experience with a focus on sharing compelling stories that engage the reader.
  • Exceptional writing skills in all areas of communication including digital/online marketing, social media, and direct mail.
  • An incredible passion for our mission that inspires others and that you can skillfully communicate in your writing.
  • Strong collaborative and team spirit, combined with self-motivation and the ability to work independently.
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills possessing the ability to represent the organization to senior level partner stakeholders.
  • Keenly interested in the latest trends in digital communication particularly as it relates to engaging donors.
  • Ability to juggle multiple high-priority, deadline-sensitive items.
  • Strong commitment to UF’s mission, vision, and values.
  • Minimum bachelor’s degree.
  • Knowledge of basic computer programs (MS Office, Word, Excel).
  • Knowledge of basic design programs (Photoshop, Acrobat, Flash).
  • Knowledge of blog development and list management tools such as WordPress and MailChimp.
  • Knowledge of social networking sites and protocols.
  • Demonstrated resourcefulness in achieving stated goals.
  • Desire to experiment with new technologies to reach growing donor base.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • A positive, energetic personality that thrives in a supportive, mission-driven environment.

COMPENSATION: 

 

This is a full-time, exempt, professional management position offering health benefits and 2 weeks vacation. Los Angeles-based is preferred, but will consider remote location candidates. Salary commensurate with experience.

You will work remotely but candidates in Southern California will be prioritized to support monthly in-person meetings.
