18 Aug Education brings unstoppable smiles…and a brighter future to thousands!

If you did not catch all of our social media posts from our most recent trip to Kenya and Uganda, here are a few highlights from our trip.

First we want to tell you about some of our unstoppable students!  Our students at the Pimbiniet school in the Maasai Mara recently completed national academic testing and scored the highest marks in the entire Narok Valley region.  This is a tremendous achievement and one we felt proud to celebrate with them.  They are definitely on their way to an unstoppable future!

The fabulous Fabienne Fredrickson, founder of Client Attraction and a wonderful Unstoppable partner, and her daughter, Claire, participated in building a wall of one of the four schoolhouses they are sponsoring in Eor Ewuaso, Kenya.  Words cannot describe the delight and joy we all felt watching Fabienne and Claire secure bricks and mortar on their very own schoolhouse that will change the trajectory of children’s lives for generations.

Susan & Cynthia Kersey

Meeting Susan, the 41st girl was another amazing highlight from our trip!  You may remember, we introduced Susan to you at our 2012 Gala as the 41st girl to attend Kisaruni Secondary School for Girls.  Initially she was not accepted because there was only room for 40 girls the first year the school opened.   Yet after an active lobbying effort from the other 40 girls that were accepted, she was allowed to join them, and is now on track to graduate from high school next year.  Her future is unstoppable!

Visiting the Oleleshwa Secondary School campus, which is scheduled to open in January 2014, and planting “oleleshwa” trees with the girls was another special moment from our trip!  Here’s Sandy Gallagher, our unstoppable partner from the Proctor Gallagher Institute , planting a tree, next to their new dormitory.

Sandy GallagherAnd finally, while in Uganda we were able to visit and participate in the inaugural ribbon-cutting ceremonies of a new school dormitory in Katikamu, and the new teacher’s housing at St. Kizito — all projects that you helped make possible!

The impact that these new buildings will have on the morale of the entire community is enormous.  The dormitories will enable children to learn and thrive in a safe and clean environment while the teachers’ housing will attract high quality teachers to the school.

Improving the environment in impoverished communities for the teachers and the students results in a higher level of learning that impacts everyone.

Thank you for helping us fulfill the promise that every child has a right to learn!

Every Child Has a Right to Learn

From the bottom of my heart, I thank you!
