The Unstoppable Foundation
Raises Record Breaking Funds
at Their Third Annual Gala
To Raise Funds for an All-Girls School In Kenya
Grammy Award Winner Nelly Furtado Matched Dollar For Dollar
The goal of this heart-warming event was to build an all-girls secondary school in Kenya, which will educate 200 young girls every year for decades to come. 100% of the proceeds benefit Free The Children. Founder of the Unstoppable Foundation, Cynthia Kersey and Craig Kielburger, founder of Free the Children, both gave poignant speeches about the importance of girl's secondary education, and Kielburger shared about Nelly Furtado’s inspiration behind her support.
A very happy and elated Kersey was thrilled when she was told that $250,000 was raised that evening to support the girls in Kenya.
An interactive "Water Walk" experience was part of the evening's activities. Guests had the opportunity to feel what it was like to carry 5-gallon water jugs -- 40 lbs each -- a short distance. The girls in Kenya must do this task three to four times each day, carrying the water several miles one way. This task is crucial to helping their families survive day to day.
Thanks for being a part of changing lives.
