29 Oct Who’s Your Hero?

Is your hero a teacher? A coach?  A sports star? A musician?

Your parent, neighbor or friend?

Take a few minutes, right now, to think about your hero.

Now, WHY is he or she your hero? What have they done that you admire and respect? What qualities do they possess that makes them someone you look up to? How have they made a positive impact in your life, and /or the lives of others?

We all need heroes in our life – people to look up to, who inspire us to achieve greatness, who push us past our perceived limitations.

Heroes keep us going when we want to give up.  They motivate us to DO more … to BE more .. to CONTRIBUTE more to the world.

One of our heroes is Malala Yousafzai, the young Pakistani girl who was shot by the Taliban simply because she had the courage to stand up for her right to go to school.

Our heroes also include every child who will never make the headlines, but walks hours to school every day, does chores late into the evening and then studies into the night by candlelight because they are hungry to learn and to fulfill every ounce of their God-given potential.. girls like Grace who attends Kisaruni Secondary School in Maasai Mara.

And our heroes are each and every one of you who help us change the world, one child at a time, by contributing to the education of children in need.

Today, we’re asking you to think about “Who is your hero?”

And then, keep an eye on our blog and your inbox, because we’re doing something REALLY special on November 1 to give you an opportunity to publicly acknowledge your hero and we’d love for you to be a part of it!
