About the role:
As part of the Operations team, the Jr. Salesforce Administrator & Research Associate is responsible for ensuring smooth “front-end” database operations and support. This includes but is not limited to creating and updating Salesforce resources (reports, dashboards, list views, etc.), providing internal and external support for donations and technical issues, inputting and reconciling donations, leading data quality initiatives, and managing development research.
Major areas of responsibility:

  • Manage the “front end” of the database (Salesforce), everything internal users can see.
  • In conjunction with the Associate Director of IT, oversee the accurate recording of all information maintained in the database, and ensure optimal data integrity through adherence to data governance best practices and regular health checks.
  • Provide internal users the views and information they need to be successful by creating, updating, and providing Salesforce reports, dashboards, campaigns, list views, page layouts, and more.
  • Ensure that donors receive the accurate, timely information and help they need through the appropriate channel (phone, email, text, etc.).
  • Input and update donations, grants, matching gifts, soft credits, and other gifts.
  • Support special events (which involves some evenings and weekends) by processing donations, responding to supporter inquiries, and confirming fundraising totals.
  • Inform the team about new features and updates to Salesforce and Salesforce-integrated tools used that can help them in their roles and take the lead on identifying ways to improve processes and resolve pain points.
  • Work with the Associate Director of IT to train and help users.
  • Research and create wealth screenings and donor profiles to provide background on giving capacity, interests, and connections.
  • Conduct proactive prospect research to identify and recommend aligned partnerships.
  • Analyze geographic areas and industries to identify strategic goals and fundraising viability in particular sectors.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned, to support overall department and Foundation activities.
Knowledge, Experience & Skills:
This role requires:

  • 3-5 years’ experience administering or providing user support for Salesforce or another CRM
  • Self-motivation, with the ability to work independently and a strong desire to succeed

  • Someone meticulously organized with exceptional oral and written communication skills
  • Someone entrepreneurial with a positive, proactive mindset; you anticipate needs before they arise and are creative in addressing and solving challenges

  • A team player able to work cooperatively and effectively with a distributed team
  • Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in data analysis using Microsoft Excel
  • Understanding of data integrity principles and practices
  • Strength in analyzing and leveraging data to inform decisions and improve overall efficiency
  • A quiet home office, as this is a remote position, and the ability to work remotely effectively
