Located on the eastern coast of Kenya, Kilifi County has relied heavily on the tourism industry for economic stability. But the pandemic decimated the tourist industry in 2020 and 2021, along with employment opportunities for many of the people living there.

Couple this with a ravaging drought and we have a region in crisis and people dying of dehydration and starvation.

The drought has caused nearly all livestock to die from lack of water and pasture. There is little clean water for drinking or washing bringing disease to Kilifi County’s residents. And gardens are no longer producing fruits and vegetables for nourishment. There are no words to describe witnessing children and other family members dying from starvation and dehydration.

When Unstoppable Foundation learned about the crisis in Kilifi, we knew we had to do something. And we knew that our generous, compassionate supporters would want to join us to help bring life-saving resources and hope to this famine-struck region.

Thanks to you and other donors, we have been able to provide Kilifi families with emergency food and rations. Implementation of our 5-Pillar Model has begun in the communities of Ezamoyo, Sosoni, Kadzandani, Migodomani, Kimbule and Mikuluni, positively impacting this region of nearly 20,000 people.

We’re also building Unstoppable Enrichment Centers where adults will gain the skills to start businesses, get jobs and bring economic stability to their community and children can study and learn in a quiet and safe environment as well as participate in special youth empowerment programs.

Over the next several years, working hand-in-hand with community members, children and their families in these communities will have access to clean water, nutritious food, health care, education and so much more AND develop the leadership skills, resilience and entrepreneurial mindset necessary to create lasting change for themselves and their families.

These communities are on the road to becoming self-sufficient and never needing charity again thanks to our truly unstoppable supporters!
