While assessing our progress in Liberia, we visited the site of our first project, Becky Primary, in the Kakata community in Margibi County.
Becky Primary is the largest school project spearheaded by Youth Action International and it is now educating over 600 children.
UNSTOPPABLE® DONORS KEEP SCHOOL OPEN!
Prior to the support of our generous donors, Becky Primary was a half-built school with 600 students crammed into inadequately resourced classrooms.
Through the generous support of individual donors to the Unstoppable Foundation we have provided the necessary resources to finalize the construction of Becky Primary so that the children of Kakata can continue their education in a conducive learning environment.
The completion of the school includes a roof, library and computer center, as well as much-needed textbooks, pens and paper.
At Becky, we met with teachers as well as the school’s principal, who took us on a tour of their modest community. We experienced first-hand the long a walk many of these students take to get to school. Even though school wasn’t in session, lots of kids came to greet us and thank us for our support.
